I’m currently in my early 30s and have been working as a teacher for a few years. Before I thought of starting this journey, I was living life to the fullest by traveling to as many places as I can during my March, June, September and December breaks. Well, because of all these adventures I had, I really had very little savings. With that, let me state my goals!

By age 35:

• Save up sufficiently for a 4/5-room HDB resale flat downpayment + renovation
  • CPF: $180 000
  • Cash: $70 000

For retirement and to be financially independent:

• Create an income stream of $60 000 annually through investments assuming 5% interest rates, by 55
• Hence I will need to save up to $1 200 000
